Like just about everyone else, I made a FleXy rack (pictured elsewhere). Shockingly, high WAF; she described it as 'very industrial' and was disappointed to hear that someday, armed with some reasonable woodworking skills, I might replace it with something made of hardwood.

Cardas SE15 Speaker Cables

For speaker wire and interconnects, I started out with the ubquitious Monster stuff but decided I could do better for not much money. I got a 10ft. section of croy'ed Cardas SE15 from TakeFive Audio. And, I got some Vampire banana connectors from CryoParts. A little heatshrink, a little assembly, and Bob's your uncle. I will say, however, I consider a solder pot mandatory for working with Cardas wire.

VHaudio Pulsar Interconnects (Sorta)

For interconnects, I bought a bunch of Pulsar coax cable from Chris VenHaus, a couple pair of Vampire #800/CB connectors from the bargin bin on eBay, some 1/8"ID x 1/4"OD vinyl tubing, 1/4" gray CleanCut Techflex, and a bit of heatshrink. First, Chris is a great guy and sent me the BOM for a making a pair of his VH Audio Pulsar interconnects. Second, I should've stuck with his recipe; I didn't because I already had the Vampire connectors in hand. See, Chris uses the Eichmann RCA connectors and a larger vinyl tube. However, the size of vinyl tube he uses won't fit into the barrel of the Vampire RCA connector and the Pulsar cable won't slide all the way through the smaller vinyl tubing. So, I spent an evening making a slit down the side of the tubing so I could route the coax cable. It worked out fine and the fix is indiscernible, but it was certainly a PITA.

All in all, I think the cables sound pretty good, certainly a sizable step up from what I was using. I don't really have much of a frame of reference, as I haven't listened to any top-notch/dollar cables and nor do I intend to do so. These do just fine, and I choose to remain blissfully ignorant. Besides, I can't imagine SWMBO is going to accept $500 cables because 'they're less grainy and the highs definitely have more sparkle.'
